Add a Newsletter System

A newsletter is one of the most effective ways to keep your community engaged and informed about your game’s progress, updates, and launch news. Indie Pocket templates don’t include a built-in newsletter system by default, but integrating one is straightforward and doesn’t require coding.

Choosing a Newsletter Tool

Popular newsletter platforms like Mailchimp, ConvertKit or Sendinblue are beginner-friendly and offer free plans tailored for small audiences, perfect for indie developers starting to build their mailing list. These tools provide easy signup form creation, contact management, and automation features.

Adding Signup Forms to your site

Most newsletter services give you embeddable signup forms or pop-ups. To add these to your Indie Pocket website built with Framer:

  • Use the Embed component in Framer.

  • Paste the HTML or JavaScript snippet provided by your newsletter tool.

  • Place the form in visible areas like the homepage, footer, or a dedicated newsletter page.

This lets visitors subscribe directly without leaving your site.

Automations and Follow-Ups

Newsletter platforms often include automation features that let you send welcome emails, updates or drip campaigns automatically. For example:

  • A welcome email thanking new subscribers for joining.

  • Regular updates whenever you publish a new devlog or release a demo.

  • Special announcements like Kickstarter launches or sales.

Automations save you time and keep your community informed without manual effort.

Growing your List

Encourage signups by offering exclusive content or perks like early demos, wallpapers, or development insights. Make sure your signup form is easy to find, and remind visitors occasionally through social media or blog posts.

Privacy and Compliance

Be mindful of privacy regulations like GDPR. Most newsletter tools help you stay compliant by including consent checkboxes and easy unsubscribe options. Include a simple privacy notice near your signup form explaining how you’ll use subscribers’ data.
